Machine Polishing

Expert Machine Polishing.

Paint Correction is a paintwork re-conditioning process achieved through various stages of machine polishing. Paint Correction is a term that is now commonly used by both professional car detailers and car cleaning enthusiasts worldwide. This multi-stage machine polishing process restores the vehicle paintwork by removing all surface imperfections, that dull, oxidize, or haze the surface which reflects light off in various directions, therefore detracting from a true and proper, clean, sharp, reflection.

These visual imperfections include fine scratches, swirl marks & webbing, holograms, bird dropping & acid rain etching, UV sun damage & much more!

Here is an example that identifies heavy swirls marks & webbing.

The term paint correction should only really be used if these imperfections are permanently removed. Make no mistake, professional paint correction isn’t covered up or hidden with filler based products.

The actual corrective process itself comprises of a small amount of clear coat or paint being removed from the surface with the use of professional abrasive polishes. These polishes are applied and worked in with professional polishing machines & graded polishing pads in order to level out the surface through multiple stages. This process is also known as paintwork levelling.

Here is an example showing the permanent removal of ALL surface imperfections after completing the cutting process on the left hand side of this 911 turbo passenger door.

Paintwork Inspection.

A professional assessment of your vehicle is essential. By uncovering any defects beforehand, we can eliminate further problems that could not be as easily fixed prior to this inspection process.

We look for signs of a repair regardless of whether the owner knows this or not. Before we can begin the Paint Correction process we need to know what we are dealing with. The Paint Correction process is assessed in levels. Minor, Major & Full Correction.

Professional Preparation.

Before any machine polishing a thorough wash and decontamination of the vehicle is performed. The process includes fully decontaminating the paint and wheels, clay barring to remove bonded contaminants, providing the best surface for the wax or sealant to bond to. Regardless of the chosen service, your paint, glass, and wheels will be thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated to allow the chosen protection full effectiveness.

Paintwork is extensively washed and cleaned to remove any loose dirt, then after the wash process is clayed with a clay bar, which safely removes any bonded surface contaminants such as tar spots and industrial fallout.

It is important these contaminants are removed before the paint correction process because if they were to become dislodged and caught up in the pad of a machine polisher, they could easily inflict damage onto the surface very quickly. It also helps to leave the surface very smooth, which allows the machine polisher to move freely over the surface and reduce the risk of damage.

Claying the car paintwork helps you to properly observe the progress of the correction process because you can see the true condition of the surface as you are working. We accurately measure how much paint there is to work with, with the use of a paint depth gauge. These are issues that cannot be answered over the phone or by having the owner perform the evaluation.

Paintwork Enhancement.

Also known as minor Paint Correction, this process removes light surface imperfections only from the surface of the paintwork with a single stage machine polish. This service is likely to be offered to "new or newer" vehicles that require a light polish to improve the visual appearance of a recently delivered vehicle. It’s also requested to achieve extra gloss & shine to near perfect paint.

This machine polishing service is offered as part of our new car paint protection that ensures nothing but near perfect paint is protected when the paint protection application is applied.

The effectiveness of our Machine Polishing & Paint Correction is flawless.
